Science at Kaitaia College -Layla bagley

 

On Tuesday I was with Isla’s mum, Rihana and Isla. We were at kaitaia  college on a class trip. I was grouped with Rihana and Isla. The first activity was biology. We were observing things in a jar, under a microscope or on a table, then you were supposed to write a word that describes it.You were also allowed to write a word that describes how it makes you feel about it. The most interesting thing I saw was a frog with three teeth and it was in a jar. I wrote it was bumpy because it looked like a road with a lot of rocks poking out.

Our second activity was physics. We had an egg, one plastic bag, one meter string, tape and newspaper. My group was raping up the egg and then we cut bag into a rope, NOW it was time to drop the egg from a two and a half meter shelf  without physically touching the egg. My group was the only group whose egg did not break.  

 

 Our last activity was chemistry. We had a lot of chemicals. There were a few activities for chemistry, one of them was  making a rainbow. It was hard. The next little activity we had a candle on fire, one test tube, a balloon, magnesium and sulphuric acid(it is dangerous). We put the sulphuric acid into the test tube,  we filled the balloon with the magnesium and then we put the open bit of the balloon on the test tube and tipped the magnesium into the test tube. It started bubbling and made air and put it in the balloon. Then we popped the balloon from the candle on fire.  

 

 

Science – Making Paper

  2. We are learning how to make paper and I learned what pulp is! I also really enjoyed putting the paper on the old bed sheet.
  3. If I made paper again I would make the paper thicker because my paper ripped straight away.

Hi I am going to tell you what I would do if I was a principal for a day. I would make sure there is a microwave in every class so everyone can have hot food. I will make sure kids learn lots of my favorite subject which is math and  much more. I will let kids bring their toys and pets to school. 

 

Firstly I would make sure there is a microwave in every class so everyone can have hot food. I will provide healthy food for breakfast and lunch so children don’t starve everyday. I will let each child have one piece of chocolate each day too! But that is it for all of the unhealthy food! 

 

Secondly I will make kids learn my favorite subject which is math. It is my absolute most favorite! Children would also do lots of reading, which is good for helping their spelling. Don’t we want to make kids know how to become smart adults to write books? Everyone will learn how to use technology appropriately. There are really inappropriate things that kids could search up on Youtube when they’re just trying to find something to draw. But I will make sure they don’t. I will make sure children do PE every Friday and Wednesday so they get healthy and fit. They will be allowed  to have lots of play time so they get their energy out of their body so they don’t get crazy in class.

 

Lastly I would let kids bring their toys and pets to school. Children could bring their cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, ponies, bunnies and even cows if they wanted to. But there’s a really horrible catch, they have to clean their pets poop but that is fair isn’t it? I will let them play catch and fetch with their pets at play time. I will let them pat and cuddle their own pets while they work at the same time. That will make all the children happy and they will do more learning!

 

So, I will make sure every class has a microwave so kids can have hot food. I will make sure kids learn lots of my favorite subject which is math and so much more. I would let kids bring their toys and pets to school. These are the reasons why I think I would be a great principal for a day and that is why I think you should hire me! Thank you for listening.
